Alkaline Diet Foods Are Recommended for Weight Loss

Hello, and welcome to my alkaline diet weight loss blog. Today I want to talk about the benefits of alkaline diet foods for weight loss. Although the alkaline diet has many benefits, including increased energy and the resolution of many chronic health problems, a lot of people are particularly interested in weight loss. And who can blame them? After all, obesity levels are reaching staggering proportions in the United States and other developed countries. So can an alkaline diet plan really help you lose weight?

Well, in order to answer that question, we first need to know what it is that causes a diet to succeed or fail at helping people to lose weight. Unfortunately, it's pretty difficult to get a straight answer to that question. Just about everyone seems to have a different explanation for what causes people to get fat, and what they need to do in order to slow down. If you ask some advocates of alkaline diet foods, they will tell you that the body stores fat in order to buffer excess acid. Accordingly, when you follow an alkaline diet, your body will no longer need all that fat, and it will effortlessly melt away without reducing your caloric intake or increasing exercise.

This is a fascinating theory, but I don't believe that it reflects the reality of the situation. The bottom line about losing weight is that you need to consume fewer calories than you burn. This is not just a good idea--it is actually an inviolable law. So in order for the alkaline diet to help you lose weight, it needs to result in a caloric deficit. How likely is that happen?

The answer is that it is likely, though not inevitable, that the alkaline diet will create a caloric deficit. Why is it likely? Because the alkaline diet is rich in fruits and vegetables and other foods that fill you up without adding many calories your diet. Why is it not inevitable? Because some alkaline foods are quite high in calories, such as some nuts and seeds. These foods are good for your overall health, but they won't help you lose weight. Fortunately, by making the right choices, it is possible to lose weight on an acid alkaline diet.
